What do I need to get a library card?

 

Library cards are provided free of charge to residents and property owners of Forrest County and the portion of Hattiesburg that has been annexed by Forrest County.  A form of ID and proof of residence are required for a borrower's card.  Youngsters under the age of fourteen need a parent to sign for their card.  Non-residents may receive a borrower's card for a $45 annual fee (per family.)

 

Can I access my account online?

 

Yes.  Visit the circulation desk and tell them you want to establish an online account.  You will need to create an ALTERNATE ID and PIN.  Remember to enter your ALTERNATE ID in ALL CAPITOLS when you log in.

 

How long do books check out for?

 

Books and all other library materials check out for three weeks and may be renewed an additional two times if there is not a request on the item.

 

Does the Library have music CDs?

 

No.

 

Can I use the Internet at the Library?

Does the Library have wireless Internet Access?

 

Yes.

 

Does the Library have meeting rooms?

What are the Library’s hours?

 

The Hattiesburg branch is open 8 am to 8 pm Monday through Thursday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays.

The Petal branch is open 9 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays.

 

Does the Library have a fax service?

 

The library faxes documents in the continental United States for $2.00 per page.

 

What do I do if I want a book the Library doesn’t have?

 

You may fill out a paper request available at the Circulation Desk or log into your online account and look for the “Not in Catalog?” link.
