How to Get a Library Card

Library cards are FREE to persons who live or own property in Forrest County or that portion of Lamar County annexed by The City of Hattiesburg. Non-resident library cards are available for a fee of $45.00 per family per year. Applicants must complete a registration form and present identification showing their current address. If you are under the age of 14, your parent or guardian must sign the application.

You may use your card at the Hattiesburg Library or the Petal Library. You are responsible for all materials checked out on your card and for payment of any fines for overdue library materials. Bring your card every time you come to the library. Let the library know immediately if you lose you card or change your address. The charge for replacement of a lost library card is $1.00.
